Oeuf’s newest furniture collection has arrived, featuring four statement pieces. While the designs reflect a new furniture aesthetic for the brand, they capture the same celebration of childhood that’s been consistent at Oeuf since 2002.
“The Moss collection is an ode to playfulness,” says Oeuf co-founder Sophie Demenge. “Our heartfelt hope is that it brings joy, becoming part of the fabric of your family’s story.”
The new line features a bold-yet-simple wave motif that’s an instant statement in any room. It includes the full suite of nursery and kid’s room needs: Crib (plus Conversion Kit), Toddler Bed, Twin Bed, and Nightstand. The pieces are available in a classic light-wood Birch.
Throughout Oeuf’s 20-plus years, Sophie has designed the clothing (full of bold patterns & colors), and she and her co-founder husband Michael Ryan have co-designed the furniture (generally minimalist in nature). But the Moss furniture collection is designed by Sophie herself, full of deeply personal touches.
“Maximalism is having its moment, but for me, it’s just how we live. Wallpaper in half our rooms, textures, eclectic artwork, antiques from all over,” Sophie says. Her mother was an antiques dealer, and it’s probably no accident that Michael was too when the couple first met. Even the Moss collection’s photoshoot was set in Sophie & Michael’s Brooklyn Brownstone, featuring many props sourced from within, including toys from when their kids were young. “This collection is an invitation into our world.”
When Sophie speaks about designing for kids, it’s clear there is a depth of meaning behind her work. “To honor children, giving them respect and care — it’s healing me, too.”
As part of Oeuf’s kid-first ethos, sustainability and ethics have always been a priority. The brand’s relationship with its furniture producers is now two decades running — a notable feat in today’s supply chain tumult. Like all Oeuf furniture, the Moss collection is certified FSC (responsible forest management) and GREENGUARD Gold (no harmful gasses), produced in a socially responsible factory in Latvia, Europe. It coordinates with the rest of the brand’s furniture offerings, including the top-selling Mini Library bookshelves, Toy Store, Play Table & Chairs and Brooklyn Desk. The pieces are known for their timeless design and durability, often handed down from family to family.
