Yes!! It is very important that you anchor Dressers and Mini Libraries to the wall as recommended by the Consumer Product Safety Commission. In fact, this should be done with all furniture and TV's. (If you have a Classic Hutch, which has been discontinued, it should also be anchored to the wall.)

Not all of our pieces use wood glue; however, when we do use glue it is non-toxic and water-based (think Elmer’s). In the process of producing plywood and MDF, only certified CARB 2 adhesives are used.

Recent attention has focused on the amount of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted into the air in our homes. Typically, the VOC of most concern is formaldehyde. Our products meet the toughest European (E1) and Californian emissions standards (CARB 1 and 2) for formaldehyde emissions. The CARB 2 standards were adopted federally in 2013. We have always met the CARB 1 standard before it even existed and have been using materials that meet the CARB 2 standard since 2011.

All solid wood contains a small amount of formaldehyde. Even the breath we exhale contains formaldehyde. Nevertheless, we are comitted to minimizing it as much as possible.

We offer natural birch, walnut stain, and white finishes.

The finishes we use on our furniture are free of VOC health hazards and are non-toxic and water-based. We meet all European, US, Canadian and Australian standards for safety and emissions, and our finishes are also approved in Europe for use on children’s toys.

All of the finishes match between collections. For example, a white Classic Dresser will match a white Sparrow Crib. Please note, though, that since the birch and walnut finishes show the natural grain of the wood, there may be uneveness in the color, and the finishes may not be identical from piece to piece.

All of our cribs accommodate standard U.S. and Canadian size crib mattresses that measure 28" x 52" x 5".

No, the Changing Tray is designed to fit on top of a dresser.

The Sparrow and River Twin Beds were designed to be lower to the ground - about 13” from floor to mattress top - so guard rails may not be necessary. It really depends whether your child tends to fall out of bed during the night.

No. The Sparrow Trundle only fits under the Sparrow Twin Bed. The same is true of the River. Please note: The Sparrow Trundle is only compatible with Sparrow Twin Beds (Item #3SPTW01 and #3SPTW02) purchased after August 1, 2010. * Neither trundle beds fit under the Perch Bunk Bed.

No, the Sparrow & River trundle beds requires a trundle mattress. While we sell a trundle mattress, any standard size trundle mattress will fit as long as it is 38"W X 72 "L X 5"H.

The Perch Bunk Bed fits a standard twin size mattress in both bunks. The mattress for the top bunk must not be more than 8 inches thick. If you plan to use the Security Rail, the mattress for the lower bunk must be between 5 and 8 inches thick.
